Many parts of the Visayas region, and San Jose on Mindoro island, have been seriously devastated over Christmas by typhoon Ursula (aka Phanfone) that has left 28 dead – and more missing – across the centre of the Philippines.

Ps Rolly Vasey (Field Coordinator – Cebu) told us that while those who have been affected are being taken care of by the government and receiving essential supplies, their ministry partners in the mountain areas (Leyte and Samar) still need help to rebuild destroyed or serious damaged churches.

Ps Danny Macuha (Field Coordinator) was unable to return to Batangas for Christmas following the most recent relief effort, as all ferries were cancelled – but plans to return soon with more relief support and says:

We are preparing food pack, clothes and we distribute this on January 8-9 in Southern part of Mindoro Island. Please pray that God bless the ministries and our needs.

Ps Danny also shared this from a reporter in the region:
“Typhoon Ursula is easily the strongest typhoon that hit Mindoro in decades with the eye hitting the central town of San Jose. We have never experienced a typhoon this strong and a devastation like this.
Our town is badly hit by Ursula and is now reeling in the aftermath.”

Please join us in praying for all those who have lost their homes and businesses through this major storm.

Donations are now closed for this appeal, but you can still make a general donation towards personnel support, community projects and future relief needs here

Thank you!
