Cambodia
Cambodia, located in Southeast Asia, is a country rich in history and culture, known for its ancient temples, including the world-famous Angkor Wat. It is home to over 17 million people, with a predominantly rural population reliant on farming. Despite its natural beauty and warm, hospitable people, Cambodia faces challenges such as poverty and limited access to resources in many areas. The country has a deep spiritual heritage, but the majority of the population follows Buddhism, with little access to the Gospel in many regions. Cambodia’s resilience and potential make it a unique and rewarding place for outreach and transformation. Cambodia went through a very dark period with the dictatorship of Pol Pot who instigated genocide killing 1.5 and 3 million people until Vietnam intervened. The country has now recovered and Phnom Phen is a busy modern city.
